TV on DVD - A bunch of series I like (GGG8)

My list of gift suggestions continues. This time I’ll be focusing on TV shows.Watching an episodic TV series on DVD is more satisfying then arranging your life around a timeslot. 24 and Family Guy showed how big of a market this can be. There are now websites devoted to it like TVShowsOnDVD. The golden price point of around $25-$50 a season was reasonable and affordable. Then everything went downhill when the studios got greedy and decided to start releasing half-seasons.

This is a collection of series I own, and ones I’m thinking about owning (even if it means downloading a torrent.) This is what I like, and if your tastes match then you might find some other series to try out as well. If there’s something I’m missing that I’d like then leave a comment.

    I’m enjoying Drawn Together atm. I finished watching Weeds a few weeks ago. Amazing show. I’ve been liking Daybreak — currently playing.

    Some good ones you’re missing:
    - Black Adder (mr bean guy)
    - Faulty Towers (monty python guy)
    - Curb Your Enthusiasm (seinfeld creator)
    - Seinfeld (although they don’t age well)
    - Bablyon 5
    - Buffy the Vampire Slayer
    - Aaargh, It’s the Mr. Hell Show
    - if you want shows for your girlfriend, The O.C. and Sex in the City are tolerable. OC has a fairly decent comic nerd character.

    The American version of The Office is arguably just as good, if not better, than the British version. It’s definitely become much more over-the-top hilarious, if nothing else.

    I’ll also second the Curb Your Enthusiasm and Seinfeld recommendations.

    And it’s only a 10 episode mini-series, but Band of Brothers is probably the best war-related thing ever created.
